Our Finance team plays a critical role in supporting the smooth running of the business by ensuring accurate financial control, effective cash management and strong internal processes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Ledger Manager, the Credit Controller will support the effective running of the accounts receivable ledger and wider credit control activities, ensuring balances due to the Company are collected in a timely and professional manner.

This role operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately posting and allocating customer receipts to the correct accounts and invoices
  • Proactively chasing overdue payments via phone, email and written communication
  • Monitoring customer credit limits and supporting the release of sales orders in line with approved terms
  • Maintaining accurate records of credit control activity and customer interactions
  • Maintaining the accounts receivable ledger to a high standard and investigating discrepancies
  • Resolving customer queries and disputes promptly, liaising with internal teams where required
  • Supporting the setup of new customer accounts and ensuring appropriate credit checks are completed
  • Assisting with month-end processes, including ledger close and reporting

About You:

We’re looking for a Credit Controller who is confident, proactive and able to work effectively in a busy environment.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Credit Control role
  • Experience working in a high-volume credit control environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • A resilient and results-focused approach

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience using accounting or ERP systems
  • Exposure to multi-currency accounts
  • Experience dealing with large national or international customers
  • Knowledge of credit escalation processes
